Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Beta Chi Omega Chapter invites the community to participate in the sorority’s annual MLK Day of Service.
Chapter members will meet on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 12pm at the Goodwill Industries of the Valleys parking lot located at 2502 Melrose Avenue NW in Roanoke to distribute educational materials about COVID-19 vaccines in northwest neighborhoods.
Communities across the country continue to battle a “tripledemic” of respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, RSV, and the flu. Health experts agree that vaccination is often the number one tool for preventing many infectious diseases.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, the oldest Greek-lettered organization established by African American, college-educated women, is dedicated to addressing local, national, and international needs through service programs that uplift and empower communities. The organization will celebrate 115 years of sisterhood and service on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
Current program initiatives are focused on empowering families, building economic wealth, enhancing the environment, advocating for social justice, and uplifting local communities.
